Kelly and Karly Sulphur Mountain, Banff Alberta,Summer 1995 Karly, Carbohydrate as I like to call her was a restless soul. In life she was full of dramatic tangents and contradictions- She also had a dynamite character. Someone who came to visit said that if Karly touched your life you knew you had been touched- she sure left her mark. Close family friends describe Karly as energetic, wise, witty, intelligent, shrewd, cocky, hilarious, and beautiful. They have hit the nail on the head. Karly had more empathy than anyone I know, perhaps that is because she packed so many experiences into her short life. I would like to share with you a poem by E. Brenneman Her Journey’s Just Begun Don’t think of her as gone away Her journeys just begun Life holds so many facets The earth is only one… Just think of her as resting From the sorrows and the tears In a place of warmth and comfort Where there are no days and years Think how she must be wishing That we could know today How nothing but our sadness Can really pass away And think of her as living In the hearts of those she touched… For nothing loved is ever lost And she was loved so much. |
